Wilson Isidor sends message to Sunderland supporters after what happened in Liverpool draw
Wilson Isidor was “gutted” despite Sunderland earning a point at Anfield.
Chemsdine Talbi was on the scoresheet as Sunderland secured a 1-1 draw away to Liverpool on Wednesday, taking them up to 23 points for the season.
Florian Wirtz’s goal, which was later ruled as a Nordi Mukiele own-goal, got the Reds back into the game, with it looking as though the Black Cats would settle for a point.
However, with minutes left on the clock, Isidor was the man who had a golden chance to steal a victory at Anfield, in a moment that left supporters with their heads in their hands.

Sunderland were agonisingly close to three points vs Liverpool
After a neat header back from Granit Xhaka, Robin Roefs had the ball, and many expected him to hold on to it as long as he could, given the Black Cats had their backs to the wall at the time.
However, he caught everyone by surprise when launching a superb long-ball down the pitch, releasing Isidor through on goal.
The Frenchman latched onto the end of it before dribbling the ball past Alisson, only to see his tame effort blocked by Federico Chiesa.
Given the time in the game, it would have sealed all three points for the Mackems, with Isidor left frustrated with himself after the game, in a message shared on his Instagram story.

“Gutted not to have offered you the three points tonight, guys, but really proud of the performance of the team,” Isidor said.
“Thanks to the fans who travelled, and see you Saturday.”

What did Regis Le Bris say about Wilson Isidor?
Sunderland are now unbeaten against five of last year’s top seven, showcasing how seriously they should be taken this year.
The Black Cats could have easily taken all three points against the reigning Premier League champions, but Regis Le Bris showed sympathy for Isidor and explained how he thinks he made the right choice.
As quoted by Sunderland Echo, the Frenchman said: “It was well played in the beginning, he connected well with Robin [Roefs].
“It was a long run and probably a bit too long. He overthought the way of managing this 1v1 with two or three defenders chasing behind him. I think it wasn’t a bad choice, but Alisson did well as well.”
