Wilson Isidor shares immediate reaction after Derby v Sunderland controversy
Wilson Isidor was lost for words after seeing his goal disallowed for Sunderland in their 1-0 victory over Derby County.
The Black Cats got back to winning ways on Tuesday evening (21 January) courtesy of an Eliezer Mayenda goal, but Isidor will have left the stadium disappointed again.
After he appeared to have doubled the Black Cats’ advantage, and indeed nearly finished celebrating, Sam Allison suddenly decided that the goal would not stand.
Thankfully, it didn’t have an immediate effect on the result with Sunderland taking all three points and Isidor sharing his immediate reaction on his X account.
His post reads: “Don’t even know what to say…” followed by three crying with laughter emojis.
Sunderland get the job done v Derby County
While a 2-0 win is certainly more beneficial than a 1-0 win, Sunderland can come away from Pride Park knowing that they did what was required to win the game… and more.
It would have been Isidor’s ninth goal of the season and will have undoubtedly provided him with a huge boost mentally after he missed two penalties against Burnley at the weekend.
However, the wait for his ninth goal goes on as Sunderland maintain their push for promotion, of which they are in an excellent position to do.

Regis Le Bris’ side are now 13 points clear of seventh in the Championship and by the end of the day, will be no further away than five points from the summit if Leeds United secure a win.
With a home encounter against Plymouth Argyle next on the schedule, it provides another chance to secure a crucial three points that will not only maintain their unbeaten home league run, but also see them surpass the final points tally that they achieved last season.
