Sunderland vs Wolves: 11 players could miss out at the Stadium of Light amid injury and suspension latest

Sunderland are set to take on Wolves on Saturday in a big clash early in the season.

While the Black Cats’ form has ensured they are well above the relegation zone, the Regis Le Bris will be keen to maintain this.

Up against a struggling Wolves side, Sunderland are the favourites. However, it could still be a tight game.

The Old Gold’s form has recovered in recent matches, and they are now unbeaten in their last three games in all competitions.

However, both managers are set to miss key players at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.

Noah Sadiki could be fit for Sunderland vs Wolves

Going into the match, Sunderland have plenty of concerns on the injury front.

Habib Diarra, Romaine Mundle, Dennis Cirkin, Aji Alese and Leo Hjelde are all expected to miss the match due to injuries.

Noah Sadiki and Omar Alderete remain doubts for Sunderland against Wolves, with the duo picking up knocks on international duty. While Le Bris confirmed that Sadiki was okay in his press conference, further assessment is required to see if he can play.

On top of this, Reinildo Mandava remains suspended after his red card against Aston Villa, with the Wolves match being the final game he will serve on the sidelines.

For Wolves, the visitors are set to have multiple players out for the clash.

Vitor Pereira confirmed in his press conference that Hwang Hee-Chan and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde will both be out of the game through a calf injury and illness, respectively.

The duo joins Leon Chiwome, who is expected to remain out with a knee injury.

However, Wolves are expected to be boosted by the return of captain Toti Gomes and Matt Doherty, who are now both available after the international break.

Sunderland’s head-to-head record against Wolves

Sunderland actually boast a good record against Wolves.

The visitors have only won one of their last 10 visits to the Stadium of Light.

The Black Cats even beat Wolves 3-0 at home in their final game before being relegated to League One, despite the Old Gold side winning the Championship that season.

Now, Le Bris will be aiming to repeat this feat when the two sides clash on Saturday.
