The strange Stadium of Light record Sunderland could end when they host Wolves
Sunderland will be looking to extend their unbeaten home run when they face Wolves on Saturday.
After the second international break in as many months, Sunderland are back at the Stadium of Light on Saturday when they face winless Wolves.
The Black Cats’ last fixture on Wearside ended in a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa, when Reinildo’s blushes were spared by Wilson Isidor, after the Mozambique international received a red card for violent conduct.
Sunderland have every chance of picking up three points against Wolves, and they could also end a very strange record that dates back to March.

North Stand will be hoping for some action in Sunderland vs Wolves
For supporters who occupy the North Stand at the Stadium of Light, there hasn’t been much action directly in front of them.
That is because every goal that Sunderland have scored on Wearside since March has been at the Roker End.
Romaine Mundle’s wonderstrike against Preston on 11 March was the last time the Black Cats scored at that end of the stadium.
Added to that, the Wearsiders have only scored in the first half of a game on one occasion this season, which is the lowest ratio in the Premier League.

Via BBC Sport, their xG across the first halves of games totals at 2.4, while the same in the second half is significantly higher at 3.9.
Given how poor Wolves have been this season, the Black Cats will be looking to start the game strong, and based on the fact that they typically attack the North Stand in the first half, Saturday’s clash could be the first time in seven months that they score at that end of the stadium.

Sunderland were the only team Wolves didn’t beat in 2018
The 2017-2018 season was one of the worst in Sunderland’s history, though it did somewhat end on a high.
The Black Cats secured a 3-0 victory against Wolves, and having drawn to them earlier in the campaign, they finished the season as the only team that hadnt suffered defeat against them.
It also prevented Wolves from reaching 100 points for the season.
While the scenarios are very different seven years on, Sunderland will be looking for a similar outcome come Saturday evening.
