Sunderland and Burnley’s summer transfer spend compared so far
Sunderland and Burnley are set for an intriguing battle in their second Premier League games.
Both sides played out tactically interesting battles last season as Sunderland came away with a 1-0 win at home and a goalless draw away in the Championship.
The pair have benefited financially from their promotion to the top-flight, with the Clarets having had parachute payments, and Sunderland making use of the £30million made from the sale of Jobe Bellingham.
Sunderland and Burnley have had differing success off the pitch this summer, with Scott Parker’s side targeting some of the same players as Regis Le Bris.

Habib Diarra signed for £27million, and Simon Adingra quickly followed for £20.75million.
Burnley’s most expensive incoming this summer has been Lesley Ugochukwu, who signed for Scott Parker’s side for £24million from Chelsea.
The Clarets followed up that signing with the incoming of Armando Broja for £20million and have also extended the contract of star defender Maxime Esteve.
Despite links with an exit, Spanish forward Eliezer Mayenda signed a contract extension with the Mackems, and Dan Neil has seemingly ruled out an exit.

How will Sunderland get on against Burnley?
The Mackems have had plenty of hard-fought games against Burnley.

Given the Black Cats’ record against Burnley, the game looks like it could go either way.
However, given the Clarets’ 3-0 defeat to Tottenham in the opening weekend, Le Bris has the upper hand and is backed to win the game.
