Salty Liverpool journalist absolutely lost his head with Sunderland in Anfield showdown

Liverpool fans did not take well to Sunderland making it hard for them at Anfield.

Sunderland secured another massive point in a 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Wednesday, meaning they are now unbeaten against five of the top seven from last campaign.

Chemsdine Talbi’s goal gave the Black Cats the lead, before Nordi Mukiele’s own-goal saw Liverpool draw level late in he game.

However, the fact that the Reds dropped points again was always going to end with frustration, and one journalist showcased his throughout the clash.

Ian Doyle was going absolutely mental at Sunderland

Stuart Attwell has had it in for Sunderland already this season, and the clash at Anfield was a similar story for large parts.

Alexis Mac Allister went down with an injury when the Black Cats had the ball, and Attwell wasted no time in stopping the game, despite the fact that it wasn’t a head injury.

Fast forward 30 minutes, and he failed to do the same thing for Sunderland, despite, on two occasions, there being an obvious head injury.

However, Liverpool journalist Ian Doyle was livid at the way the Black Cats went about their game.

His first few tweets start fairly innocuously, with Doyle saying: “Brobbey has already hit the deck twice with zero reward. One to keep an eye on.”

Another post, not long after, reads: “Brobbey finally gets his free-kick after a tussle with Konate.”

Most of these incidents were genuine fouls, believe it or not, leaving Doyle to look somewhat salty, ironically.

What did Arne Slot say after Liverpool draw vs Sunderland

There’s certainly been a rhetoric from the game that Liverpool were unfortunate, when it was not really the case.

Sunderland earned their point, and, if anything, were more than annoyed to have only come out of the game with one as opposed to three.

However, Arne Slot echoed that assessment in his interview post-match.

“I think that was a bit similar to the weekend,” the Liverpool boss said.

“A game where we didn’t concede a lot, we didn’t create a lot. Maybe we created a bit more than we conceded. Today, very unlucky with the goal we conceded, a deflection that could have gone anywhere.”

“It is clear that teams who play us now think they can get a result.”
