Sunderland hold ‘positive contacts’ over Enzo Le Fee deal – journalist
Sunderland have had “positive contacts” in their bid to sign AS Roma midfielder Enzo Le Fee, according to Matteo Moretto.
The Relevo journalist initially broke the news of the Black Cats’ interest in the Frenchman with his most recent X update [7 January] suggesting that there have been “positive contacts” regarding the move.
It is understood that Sunderland are chasing a loan deal with the option to buy Le Fee although that may hinge on their ability to get promoted this season.
Negotiations are ongoing with the Black Cats hoping to find a resolution.
Sunderland ready to showcase ambition
Once again, the word ambition has come to fruition and the links to Le Fee are a showcase of that to the very highest order.
The Frenchman was once regarded as one of the brightest prospects in France during his time at Lorient, ironically when he played under Regis Le Bris.
That very link could be the reason Sunderland pull off the deal with the fact that Le Fee truly made a name for himself under Le Bris before big money moves to Rennes and then to Roma.

He has found game time limited at the Serie A giants and a loan deal with the option to become permanent could prove a good opportunity for Le Fee to showcase his worth in England and join an already French-orientated Black Cats team.
All eyes will be on any future updates regarding the move and it is certainly one that has been cause for excitement on Wearside.
