View: 29% Wilson Isidor concerns emerge at Sunderland despite win v Swansea
Wilson Isidor made a fantastic start to life at Sunderland but has failed to register a single-goal contribution in his last six games and is becoming a minor concern.
The Frenchman has certainly offered more good than bad for the Wearsiders this season and even earned praise from an opposition manager earlier in the campaign.
However, goals have dried up in recent weeks and it indicates Sunderland still need some extra attacking reinforcements when the January transfer window opens.
The Black Cats need a plethora of players capable of scoring goals if they are to continue their push for promotion after the 3-2 win at Swansea.
Wilson Isidor performance in numbers in Sunderland v Swansea
Isidor actually played a crucial role off the ball for what proved to be the winning goal from Jobe Bellingham, with a near-post run vacating the space for the midfielder to enter and dispatch Sunderland’s third of the game.
However, outside of that, things just wouldn’t drop for the Frenchman who will undoubtedly be becoming increasingly frustrated at his lack of goals.
According to FotMob, Isidor recorded just 35 touches in Wales, with five of those resulting in misplaced passes.
A 69 per cent pass accuracy showcased his weaknesses at holding the ball up and linking play for the Black Cats, especially in the first half.
Isidor managed just one shot in the encounter, failing to hit the target with it from an xG (expected goals) of 0.13.

His lack of hold-up ability was showcased again by his 29 per cent success rate in ground duels. Isidor was involved in a remarkable 14 of them but only came away with the ball on four occasions.
There is no doubt that Isidor will contribute heavily to the promotion push that Sunderland find themselves in but fortunes will need to change in front of goal.
