Wilson Isidor to make Sunderland history after latest international developments
Sunderland have had a host of players involved with their respective countries during the international break.
Wilson Isidor is not one of those men, and he has instead been training with the Black Cats squad in the North East.
Isidor bagged his first Premier League goal against West Ham before delivering another against Brentford.
Now, the forward is set to make a key decision on his international future, which would make history on Wearside.
Wilson Isidor gives consent to represent Haiti
Isidor could be in line for his first Premier League start against Crystal Palace after some impressive displays.
Following his goal against the Bees, Isidor spoke of his admiration for Sunderland, while dedicating the goal to his daughter.
The forward is a French citizen and has represented the international team at four different youth levels.
- Isidor scored four goals in seven appearances for the France under-18s
- He bagged eight in eight for the under-19s
- The forward played twice for the under-20s
However, he has now reportedly given his verbal consent to join the Haiti national team next October, according to Sport Passion Info on 11 September.
Isidor is of Haitian descent through family heritage and has not represented the French national team, meaning he can do so.

Wilson Isidor would become first Haitian international to play for Sunderland
If Isidor becomes capped by Haiti, then he would be the first player from the North American country to play in the Premier League.
In doing so, he would become only the second player from the island nation to play in the Premier League, after Wolves’ Jean‐Ricner Bellegarde.
Haiti have played two World Cup qualifiers so far, drawing with Honduras and Costa Rica.
Their next round of matches comes in October, when they are set to play Nicaragua and Honduras again.
They have only ever qualified for the World Cup on one occasion, and that was the 1974 tournament held in Italy.
While it would be some achievement for Haiti to qualify for the competition, they could soon be boosted by Isidor’s quality.
