Wilson Isidor ‘frustrated’ at Sunderland after what Regis Le Bris did

Wilson Isidor has struggled for gametime at Sunderland over the last few weeks.

Eliezer Mayenda has stepped into the spotlight for Sunderland as of late, with a brace scored against Sheffield Wednesday, closely followed by his opening strike in the win against Cardiff.

The Spaniard now has 12 goal contributions for the Black Cats in just 17 starts, though his recent form has earned him an extended run in the team, and rightfully so.

However, when one player steps forward, another is forced to take a step back, which in this case, has been Isidor, who will be frustrated at the situation on Wearside.

Regis Le Bris has a selection headache at Sunderland

In previous years, the main topic of conversation has been the lack of effective strikers, whereas this time, its focused on how Sunderland can integrate the several options they have to lead the line.

Regis Le Bris previously stated the need for rotation up top, which, while it makes sense, will leave Isidor questioning what more he needs to do.

Sunderland have two great attacking options

The Frenchman is the top scorer for the Black Cats, and has earned a reputation of being one of the best strikers in the Championship.

However, despite that, he has to wait patiently for his chance to come back around to secure his place back in the starting 11.

With 10 games remaining, Isidor will undoubtedly have plenty of involvement, but given the position they find themselves in, it may be time for Le Bris to utilise both Mayenda and Isidor for the run-in.

Sunderland must maintain momentum

At this period in the season, form and momentum will be key to success, and Sunderland simply need to keep building on it.

While performances are important, results are what define the success you can achieve in a campaign, and through one way or another, Le Bris’ side need to find a way to ensure they come away with as many points as possible.

Automatic promotion seems unlikely for Sunderland, though it is not completely out of the question, but any chances will hinge on their ability to stay consistent.
