View: Wilson Isidor to be dropped – Sunderland predicted XI vs Hull

Regis Le Bris is expected to make just one change to the Sunderland starting line-up when they travel to face Hull City this Sunday (20 October).

Le Bris’ side have passed the Championship test with true colours so far, sitting top of the table however Sunday’s encounter provides an interesting test for Sunderland as they face a Hull side with just three wins.

A win for the Black Cats would see them retain their position at the top of the table however a defeat could see them drop as low as fifth.

Aaron Connolly has made significant progress in his race back to match fitness and is likely to feature from the bench whereas Eliezer Mayenda is expected to be the only change as the Spaniard returns from injury.

Sunderland need to pick up where they left off

Sunderland’s XI has largely been the same throughout the season barring a couple of injuries here and there so it is expected to be much of the same this weekend.

Anthony Patterson has been Sunderland’s consistent number one throughout the past four seasons and rarely puts a foot wrong in goal.

Dan Ballard missed international duty with an injury but is due back to the squad this weekend meanwhile, the severity of Jobe Bellingham’s injury is unknown however it is a huge possibility that he dropped out of international duty to get a well-earned break.

Trai Hume will undoubtedly start on the right side of defence after impressing on international duty with Dennis Cirkin on the opposite side.

Sunderland’s midfield has impressed with Chris Rigg and Dan Neil featuring consistently and both are expected to keep their place.

A return to the starting 11 could be on the cards for Mayenda who enjoyed a successful spell in the side prior to his injury. A brace against Sheffield Wednesday allowed the 19-year-old to showcase his ability earlier in the season and his consistency earns himself a place in the side this Sunday.

Wilson Isidor has impressed in his absence however the Spaniard may be more suited to the task at hand.

Romaine Mundle has been a shining star for the Black Cats and has replaced the summer departee Jack Clarke seamlessly. When fit, Mundle will start every league encounter.

Sunderland will be hoping that the international break hasn’t slowed any momentum after a draw against Leeds United preserved their unbeaten home run.

A win could prove vital for Le Bris’ side who have struggled on the road on occasions so far, with defeats to Watford and Plymouth and Sunday presents a fantastic opportunity to rectify that.
