Wilson Isidor concern warranted after what he did in Sunderland defeat v Swansea

Wilson Isidor failed to get on the scoresheet for Sunderland at the weekend, with his all-round performance providing worry.

Sunderland’s defeat to Swansea had a pre-season feel to it, with absolutely no intensity or desire from either side for the majority of the game.

Not for the first time either, with Sunderland’s performance levels dropping significantly since they fell out of contention for a top two place.

Throughout that period, several players have struggled to impress, and it has been no different for Isidor, who Sunderland will be starting to get very concerned over.

Sunderland need to get Isidor firing again

Isidor struggled massively for the Black Cats against the Swans, and marked his ninth game in a row without a goal, showcasing their biggest concern.

Just one assist has been placed next to his name in that time period, with the Frenchman failing to get involved in any of those encounters at large.

Previous 30 games12 goals, 1 assist
Isidor is struggling to impress as of late.

Quite frankly, Sunderland have looked toothless going forward for weeks now, and entering the playoffs in that state is unlikely to bring success.

How they do it is unknown, but the Mackems need to get Isidor back on the scoresheet regularly and get him back to the form that saw him become a hero on Wearside earlier in the season.

Regis Le Bris needs to find a way at Sunderland

While rotation will be key at this stage in the season, Sunderland need to enter the playoffs with some confidence if they are to achieve promotion back to the Premier League.

Over the last 180 minutes of football, the Black Cats have looked devoid of that, while also failing to offer any real quality to the games in question.

Regis Le Bris has a big task on his hands to rectify that ahead of the final four games of the season, starting with their away encounter with Bristol City on Friday night.
