What Sunderland fans can expect on deadline day – ins, outs and done deals
Sunderland still have business to do in the transfer window to have a complete squad for Regis Le Bris.
The Black Cats have already welcomed more than 10 new signings through the door and have spent north of £100million.
Sunderland may have recently signed Nordi Mukiele, but they still want a couple of more defenders through the door.
Indeed, the Black Cats may also be forced back into the market for another forward after the latest on Marc Guiu.
A host of players could still leave the Stadium of Light, as Mackem News assesses what supporters can expect on deadline day.

Sunderland could add Nayef Aguerd and another centre-back
Sunderland have been heavily linked with West Ham defender Aguerd, who was absent from their 3-0 win at Nottingham Forest.
Indeed, the Black Cats have reportedly submitted an offer for the centre-back amid the injury to Dan Ballard.
Ballard scored in the Wearsiders’ opening game of the Premier League season, with a fine headed goal against the Hammers.
However, Aguerd may not be the only defender through the door, with Sunderland still keen on Bologna centre-back Jhon Lucumi.
- Aguerd spent last season on loan with Real Sociedad
- The Moroccan has 55 international caps
- He has been at West Ham for three years
Lucumi is unsettled at Bologna and was dropped for their win over Como after committing a defensive error against Roma.
While getting a deal over the line for the Colombia international is proving tricky, there is every chance he could still move before the deadline.
Even if the North East club are unable to acquire the 27-year-old, then they could have a contingency plan to sign an alternative.

Sunderland forced into action after Marc Guiu transfer bombshell
Guiu only joined Sunderland on a season-long loan this season, but his time in the North East is set to end prematurely.
There had been murmurings that Chelsea would have to recall Guiu after the injury sustained by Liam Delap.
Now, the Blues have reached a verbal agreement with the Wearsiders to bring him back, according to Fabrizio Romano on 31 August.
The news is a significant blow to Sunderland, who only have Eliezer Mayenda and Wilson Isidor as quality options.
Indeed, it will surely mean that the Black Cats are forced back into the market to find an adequate replacement.
However, with time against them, they will have to move quickly, with Brian Brobbey their preferred target from Ajax, it seems.
A host of players could leave the Stadium of Light
Le Bris has a bloated squad, with a wealth of players sitting on the periphery.
- Goalkeepers: Blondy Nna Noukeu is the most likely to leave, seeing as he is the fourth choice
- Defenders: Jenson Seelt has been linked with a move to NEC Nijmegen. Joe Anderson, Leo Hjelde, Zak Johnson, and Timothee Pembele could also move on in some regard
- Midfielders: Alan Browne, Jay Matete, and Milan Aleksic will find opportunities sparse and could find a fresh challenge
- Forwards: Ian Poveda and Nazariy Rusyn have failed to impress, while Ahmed Abdullahi may leave on loan
It promises to be a busy day on Wearside with a raft of arrivals and departures expected on deadline day.
