View: Sunderland need to utilise Serbian wonderkid Milan Aleksic
Sunderland were able to bring Milan Aleksic to the Stadium of Light last summer in a transfer full of intrigue and the club must utilise him.
Aleksic has already received international recognition after being called up to the Serbian national squad prior to the September international break and scored for their U21 side last night (15 October) in a 1-0 win over Ukraine.
The Serbian attracted interest from the likes of Chelsea and Benfica (Serbian Football Scout) but Sunderland were able to conclude a deal for the midfielder who featured in the top 15 of a list showcasing U18 players with the highest progressive pass accuracy.
This is one of the biggest reasons and perhaps indicators as to why he needs to be utilised at Sunderland.
Milan Aleksic could change games for Sunderland
His inclusion in that list demonstrates how creative of a player he can be, and at just 19 years old, he still has years of development ahead of him however that will only progress with gametime.

Aleksic is yet to feature for Sunderland’s first team but was included in the starting 11 for their U21 side earlier in the season, primarily to aid the midfielder in getting towards match fitness but to also provide the Serb with a small introduction of what English football entails.
Regis Le Bris’ side have had a remarkable start to the campaign but in several games have demonstrated a minor lack of ability when it comes to breaking opposition down and someone like Aleksi could be key to providing something different.
Eliezer Mayenda and Wilson Isidor have been Sunderland’s primary striking options so far, two players blessed with pace and having someone capable of feeding balls in behind an opposition defence could be key to unlocking their full potential.
Aleksic’s development will certainly be one to keep a close eye on with hopes that he can reach his full potential with the Black Cats.
