View: Sunderland gem clearly revelling in win v Luton after what he posted on social media
Romaine Mundle scored the winner for Sunderland and posted a subtle dig at Luton in an Instagram post after the game.
The winger scored his fourth of the season as the Black Cats widened the gap at the top to three points with Chris Rigg also on the scoresheet.
Mundle was quick to react to the game by posting on his Instagram account [23 October] with a sly swipe at Luton.
The post reads “Luton dump”, along with several photos of the star winger celebrating his goal.
Romaine Mundle can surpass Jack Clarke impact at Sunderland
When the inevitable sale of Jack Clarke happened, alarm bells were ringing on Wearside as to how the club could replace such an influential member of the squad.
Little did supporters know they already had.
Mundle arrived the season before Clarke’s exit as a succession plan and it has certainly played off so far. He has been in outstanding form.
Perhaps the one thing that Mundle thrives at is his ability to go inside or outside. While very few players could stop it, Clarke always had a preference to come inside on his stronger right foot.
Mundle is a very similar player but has proven on multiple occasions he is more than capable of causing a threat on his weaker left foot, leaving defenders to question which way he will go.
With four goals already to his name, Mundle is already well on his way to surpassing Clarke’s best goal return on Wearside which saw him bag 15 goals.
