View: Sunderland can take advantage as early Blackburn Rovers team news shared

Regis Le Bris has been given a boost ahead of the game between Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day after John Eustace confirmed a couple of injuries in his side.

The Black Cats will be eager to add to their four game unbeaten run on Thursday [26 December] as they prepare for a trip to Ewood Park.

Just one place separates the two sides in the table but, with six points between the sides and a first loss in six games on Saturday [21 December] for Blackburn, Sunderland will be hoping to come out on top.

Le Bris has been given a boost after Blackburn Rovers confirmed via X [23 December] that they will be missing two players through injury, with Lewis Travis set to be out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury and Harry Pickering unavailable for eight to 12 weeks.

Sunderland can use Blackburn Rovers injuries to their advantage

With the Black Cats coming into this game in good form again, it will no doubt come as welcome news that their opponents will be missing two players. That is something that will only give Sunderland an advantage.

Captain Travis has played nearly every minute of the season for Rovers so far and will no doubt be a big loss for the home side, who will miss his direction on the field. Pickering has made fewer appearances this term but has played for Eustace’s side in their two previous games.

Therefore, this will be a blow for Sunderland’s opponents, who are suddenly missing two players from their starting line-up going into the game on Boxing Day.

With six points already separating the two sides in the table, there is no excuse for the North-Eastern outfit not to extend that gap even further and take advantage of the holes in their opponents’ side in the upcoming clash.
