Two more exits set to be announced at Sunderland after deadline day exodus
Sunderland had a remarkably busy deadline day.
With the transfer window now shut and the first international break upon us, Sunderland supporters have plenty of time to reflect on the business done on their return to the Premier League.
15 new arrivals checked in at the Stadium of the Light over the course of the summer, including Brian Brobbey and Lutsharel Geertruida, who arrived at Sunderland on deadline day.
However, Monday wasn’t all about incomings, with several exits also announced, and two more potentially still to come.

Nazariy Rusyn and one other could still leave Sunderland
Nazariy Rusyn was linked with a deadline day exit from Sunderland, though, as things stand, that is yet to have been formalised.
However, according to the Northern Echo, Rusyn and Milan Aleksic are still both expected to leave on loan in the next few days.
While the English transfer market shut at 7 pm on Monday, the windows across Europe and other countries remain open, some doing so until mid-September.
Sunderland’s deadline day business.
- Brian Bobbey – In from Ajax
- Lutsharel Geertruida – In from Leipzig
- Bertrand Traore – In from Ajax
- Patrick Roberts – Out to Birmingham
- Niall Huggins – Out to Wycombe
- Alan Browne – Out to Middlesbrough
Patrick Roberts’ loan move to Birmingham was announced late on deadline day, with Niall Huggins, Alan Browne and Oliver Bainbrdige also departing.
Aleksic registered an assist in Sunderland’s Carabao Cup defeat to Huddersfield last week, in what is likely to be his only appearance for the Black Cats this season.

Deadline day was a resounding success on Wearside
After Sunderland lost Marc Guiu back to Chelsea, they acted fast to secure the services of Brobbey, and it is a breath of fresh air to see the planning put in place.
Sunderland have often been known for their panic buys on deadline day, though Monday night was the complete opposite.
A deal to bring Bertrand Traore to the Stadium of Light was also finalised, with the 29-year-old putting pen to paper on a one-year deal with a club option of an extra year.
Several players will depart for international duty now, while Regis Le Bris will have some time with the remainder of the squad to iron out some of the issues that have emerged in the opening three games of the season.
