Sunderland's potential summer departures: Wilson Isidor and £8m outcast

Sunderland will be expected to sanction several exits ahead of the summer transfer window.

The summer window opens on 15 June, though some business can be finalised ahead of that date if the deals are agreed.

Nevertheless, that is when the Black Cats are expected to begin their recruitment push, with Regis Le Bris' squad in need of more depth and more quality to compete in the Europa League.

However, in order to achieve that, Sunderland will have to offload some of their fringe players, many of whom have already be linked with exits.

Wilson Isidor

Wilson Isidor was on the scoresheet again for Haiti over the intertional break, which was something he managed just six times last season.

The arrival of Brian Brobbey pushed him down the pecking order, and even saw him linked with an exit in the winter transfer window.

Everton were one of the clubs reported with an interest, with Leeds United believed to have joined that race in the last few months.

Sunderland need depth in the forward areas, though they may look to cash in on him if the chance emerges.

Eliezer Mayenda

Despite scoring on the opening day against West Ham, he became a bit-part player at best for the remainder of the campaign.

Like Isidor, he too has been linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light, though his exit is more likely given the fact that he is the third-choice striker heading into the summer window, in which another may be added to the squad.

Anthony Patterson

Dan Neil, Dennis Cirkin, Patrick Roberts and Alan Browne are just a handful of the players who faced the consequences of Sunderland's success, and Anthony Patterson could be next.

The goalkeeper spent the previous campaign on loan at Millwall, but failed to achieve promotion with them to the Premier League.

He will return to Sunderland this summer, though for how long remains to be seen, with several EFL clubs mooted with an interest
