Sunderland could be set lose a whole host of players once the summer transfer window arrives.

Focus for Sunderland for now will be on their Friday night clash with Coventry, but it won’t be long until attentions turn to the summer.

Sunderland, regardless of which division they are in, will be in for a hectic summer transfer window, with several players expected to leave the Stadium of Light.

With that said, yet another Black Cats star has been mooted for an exit from Wearside in the coming months, and two Scottish sides have been connected with a deal.

Nectar Triantis could become first summer exit

Most of the attention this summer will be on the future of Jobe Bellingham, though he won’t be the only one linked with an exit, especially if promotion isn’t achieved.

However, one of the players who hasn’t had any say in Sunderland’s push is the latest to be linked away, with a report from the Northern Echo stating that Hibernian want to sign Triantis after impressing on loan.

Of course, his future may be decided by which division Sunderland are in next season, as well as the future of Dan Neil.

Sunderland will need depth next season

With or without Premier League football, Sunderland will need more bodies in and around the first-team squad to ensure they can reach their goal.

Injuries this season have severely hampered their progress on Wearside, and they will want to avoid the same fate next time out.

Triantis has thrived in Scotland, and his versatility is a huge asset to have, and it should take a fairly reasonable fee to prize him away from the Stadium of Light.

With that said, the Black Cats will not be even thinking about any summer exits at this point, with full focus on their clash with Coventry in the first leg of the semi-final of the playoffs.
