Trai Hume axed in double change – Sunderland predicted XI vs Arsenal

Trai Hume could take a step back from the starting 11 when Sunderland host Arsenal on Monday night.

Sunderland secured another valuable point at home to Everton last time out, in a game that was a marred by a late controversy in the penalty area.

With that said, the Black Cats will take heart from the fact that they were able to extend their unbeaten home run and accumulate their 18th point of the season after just 10 games.

On Saturday, Arsenal make the trip to the Stadium of Light, with Regis Le Bris set for his biggest test as Sunderland boss so far this season.

Sunderland to stick with back five vs Arsenal

Robin Roefs is under no threat of losing his place anytime soon, but there could be a slight reshuffle at the back when Sunderland face the Gunners.

Dan Ballard and Lutsharel Geertruida should keep their place, with Omar Alderete coming back into the fold, despite missing the clash with the Toffees.

He was expected to be back on Monday night, but the Black Cats were more than likely playing it safe.

Trai Hume has generally impressed for Sunderland this season, but his display last time out was far from his best, and with the visitors set to take advantage of set pieces, Le Bris may look to add more height to his backline with the return of Alderete.

It could see Mukiele start on the right of a back five, with Reinildo keeping his spot on the opposite side.

A midfield of Noah Sadiki and Granit Xhaka is all but nailed on for Sunderland, with another change in the front three.

Chemsdine Talbi could return for Sunderland

Enzo Le Fee registered an assist on Monday night and has played a crucial role on the left flank ever since coming in to replace Simon Adingra.

Bertrand Traore featured wide right for Sunderland against Everton, and while it was his best game in red and white, Chemsdine Talbi deserves his chance to impress from the start.

As for the striker, Le Bris only really has one option.

Wilson Isidor has adapted well to Premier League football, and if the Black Cats are to even get a goal against Mikel Arteta’s side, he is by far the best-placed man to provide it.
