‘Tommy Watson can leave Sunderland now’ after what he did in Norwich City draw
Tommy Watson failed to impress for Sunderland in the goalless draw against Norwich City on Tuesday.
The Black Cats travelled to Carrow Road on 8 April and came away with just a single point as both sides cancelled each other out.
This saw Regis Le Bris’ side move to 76 points in the Championship, leaving them 13 points ahead of Bristol City, who have moved up to fifth place.
This could see the Mackems line up against the Robins in the playoffs before Watson makes his move to Brighton in the summer.
After his performance against Norwich, the teenager may not be picking up many more minutes before his Premier League departure.

Watson in poor Sunderland showing v Norwich
There is no doubt that the 19-year-old has a positive campaign in the North East, which is set to culminate in a move to the Seagulls.
With that being said, that move can’t afford to come at a cost to everyone at the Stadium of Light who needs him to maintain a positive level.
This wasn’t the case against the Canaries as he was only able to maintain 27 touches in a near 70-minute showing in Norfolk [FotMob].
With those touches, the Englishman registered just eight accurate passes while also completing just 25 per cent of his four attempted crosses.
Watson was also caught offside once and dispossessed three times as his frustration continued throughout the clash.
This wasn’t helped by his failure in five duels in a win rate of just 38 per cent, which ultimately isn’t good enough with promotion in mind under Le Bris.

Watson not showing why Brighton want him
There is plenty of positivity surrounding the winger who has earned a move to a progressive Premier League side at just 19 years old.
This says a lot about the campaign that he’s had in red and white stripes and only adds to the frustration around his performance at Carrow Road.

Watson showed a lack of creativity and ultimately was taken off early and replaced by Enzo Le Fee on the flank.
That isn’t to say that the teen was on his own in being poor, as Milan Aleksic on the opposite flank also had a night to forget against the Canaries.
With such quality sitting on the bench, allowing Watson to start, it won’t be long before they reclaim a first team spot and the youngsters move to the Seagulls edges ever closer.
