Supercomputer predicts where Sunderland will finish in Premier League after win vs Chelsea
Regis Le Bris will be more than impressed with Sunderland’s start to the season.
An impressive last-minute effort from substitute Chemsdine Talbi saw Sunderland collect all three points against Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
The 2-1 victory means that the Black Cats have won three in their last five games, with Sunderland’s defeat to Manchester United earlier this month being the only loss during this period.
Given the Black Cats’ current form, fans’ objectives for the season will likely be more than staying in the Premier League, as they amazingly sit fourth.

Sunderland predicted to finish 14th in the Premier League
The victory over Chelsea has left observers awed by the changes Le Bris has made at Sunderland.
Nodri Mukiele signed for the Black Cats over the summer and, as well as improving his side defensively, has a pretty decent long throw in his locker.
In fact, several of their new signings have made a huge difference thus far, including Granit Xhaka, who has been a standout player for Sunderland.
As a result, most fans will be eyeing a top 10 finish in the Premier League. However, Sunderland are expected to finish 14th this season, according to Opta’s Supercomputer.
- There is a 0.01 per cent chance of becoming title winners
- Sunderland have a 1.39 per cent chance of securing UEFA Champions League football
If correct, the Black Cats will finish two spots above Leeds United and four spots higher than Burnley, who are currently predicted to finish in the relegation zone.

While this could come as a blow to supporters, given that Sunderland were predicted to go down, not too long ago, this would be a solid outcome.
Sunderland are top three in one Premier League statistic
As it stands, Sunderland have conceded seven goals in the Premier League, which is the third lowest behind Manchester City and Arsenal.
Meanwhile, they have netted 11 goals in the league, which sees them 11th, just behind Crystal Palace, who have scored 12 this season so far.
While Le Bris’ side are not the best attacking team in the first division, the Black Cats seem to have an iron-clad defence.
As a result, their predicted position on the table this season and recent performances come as no surprise.
