Sunderland’s Stadium of Light to welcome huge act – and we think we know who it is
Sunderland are looking to maximise their commercial opportunities with concerts at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland spent a lot of money in the summer transfer window, which led to constant debates around PSR and where the Black Cats stand in that regard.
However, to put it simply, they are absolutely fine and are always looking for ways to expand their income.
One of the ways they can support that is through events and concerts at the Stadium of Light, with a new hint provided as to who could be touring Wearside next year.

Take That set for Wearside return?
The Stadium of Light has hosted some big names, with the likes of David Guetta, Rihanna and Ed Sheeran all including Sunderland as part of their tour in recent years.
However, 14 years on from the latest show, Take That look set to return to the Stadium of Light, with a teaser shared on social media.
The elephant symbol has been shared in new video, as a hint to Take That’s album back in 2010 called “The Circus”.
If that wasn’t enough of a tease, Gary Barlow has since retweeted the post on his own account, all but confirming that a return is on the cards.
The award-winning group toured at the Stadium of Light in 2009 and 2011.
Their last tour in general was back in 2019, and this reunion will be sure to spark plenty of interest and, of course, benefit Sunderland in more ways than one.
Stadium concerts can benefit PSR
PSR was ultimately the reason Sunderland got the better of Leeds in the summer transfer market, and the Black Cats are constantly looking for ways to give themselves more financial wiggle room.
Concerts are a great way of doing it, as a result of the sudden influx of revenue from ticket sales and merchandise.
This additional revenue is often seen as a crucial component for football clubs to adhere to the rules in the Premier League.
As for Take That, they will almost certainly sell out the Stadium of Light, which will be a massive boost for the city and the club.
