Sunderland’s Chris Rigg spotted doing something incredible to teammate amid Chelsea scenes
Regis Le Bris could not be happier with the start Sunderland have made to the Premier League.
Heading into Saturday, the odds were against Sunderland’s chances of victory over Chelsea, but through a perfectly executed game plan, the Black Cats did it.
Sunderland’s performance against Chelsea has impressed many, as Le Bris’s side next face Everton at the fortress that is the Stadium of Light.
Chris Rigg has received mixed opinions on his performances this season, but the 18-year-old did what was required when he came off the bench to help the Black Cats to three points on Saturday evening.
Now, footage has emerged of Rigg going over to one player in particular, as the rest of the squad swarmed match-winner Chemsdine Talbi.

Chris Rigg went straight to Brian Brobbey after Sunderland’s winning goal
Talbi’s strike came in the 93rd minute, and although the winger has stolen the headlines, Brian Brobbey’s importance in the goal cannot be understated.
Brobbey showed great strength when he held the ball up against Chelsea’s Tosin Adarabioyo before laying the ball off for Talbi, who nestled a shot in the bottom corner.
Rigg was then seen going straight over to celebrate with Brobbey, the only Sunderland player to do so.
- Sunderland bought Brobbey for a fee that could total over £20m if add-ons are met
- The Dutch striker is yet to start a game for Sunderland
- Brobbey has managed just 72 minutes for Sunderland so far
The assist was vital for Sunderland, and it’s helped for an additional two points that could be crucial come the end of the season.
Brobbey proved he can perform against top opposition in Chelsea on Saturday, but still faces tough competition for minutes at Sunderland.
Wilson Isidor is undroppable for Sunderland
Wilson Isidor is on fire for Sunderland, and extended his tally to four Premier League goals for the season when he scored the Black Cats’ leveller against Chelsea.
Brobbey may have initially been seen as an upgrade on Isidor, but with the latter’s performances this season, he is now simply cannot be dropped.
The good thing for Sunderland is that they have forwards who are all fighting for a place place in the starting lineup.
This was shown with Brobbey’s contribution off the bench against Chelsea, as Le Bris may see him as a starting option against a physical Everton side on Monday night.
