‘Sunderland would pay £20m for Nayef Aguerd after what I’ve seen at West Ham’
West Ham could up their demands for Sunderland target Nayef Aguerd.
The Black Cats have shown an interest in the Morocco international this summer as a London Stadium exit looks increasingly likely.
This could see the Stadium of Light be a positive landing ground for the 29-year-old ahead of a return to Premier League action this campaign.
With a potential deal in the pipeline, the Hammers could raise their price tag for the centre-back as the window moves deeper.

West Ham to set new Aguerd demands
There is no doubt that the Mackems are in need of central defensive reinforcements ahead of the new season in the top flight.
This has seen bids for Jhon Lucumi at Bologna be rejected, which could see interest in the wantaway Irons ace be stepped up.
The SR5 outfit have already showcased a willingness to submit an offer to West Ham worth around £7million for Aguerd this summer [Al Omq Sport, 11 July].
With that being said, former Brentford manager Martin Allen has suggested that the Hammers could now demand £20m for the Moroccan after his LaLiga loan spell.
Speaking exclusively to Mackem News, Allen said: “West Ham won’t let him go for £10m, he’s worth more than that.
“He played for Real Sociedad last season and did very well. I think he played virtually the whole season.
“I don’t think I would personally buy him based on what I’ve seen at West Ham, he’s not that good of a player.
“If West Ham were to offer him for £20m to Sunderland, I think they’d take it with add-ons and sell-ons added in.
“That’s how I see that one going.“

Sunderland could pay £20m for Aguerd
It is fair to say that Dan Ballard represents a strong option, but alongside Luke O’Nien in the north east, there is a general lack of Premier League experience.
As a result, a move for Aguerd could prove to be wise given his 58 appearances across two seasons featuring at the London Stadium.
Stat | Nayef Aguerd |
Appearances | 58 |
Goals | 4 |
Assists | 1 |
The ex-Stade Rennais man could prove to be a useful addition, even if a £20m fee does appear to be on the steeper side of what the Black Cats want to pay.
