Sunderland vs Everton result predicted by supercomputer

Sunderland return to Premier League action when they face Everton at the Stadium of Light on Monday.

In their last match, Chemsdine Talbi’s stoppage-time winner gave Sunderland a famous 2-1 win over Chelsea on 26 October.

Sunderland were predicted to be relegated at the start of the season, yet they currently sit fourth in the Premier League table.

Regis Le Bris‘ side are unbeaten at the Stadium of Light, and a win over Everton would spark even more joy from the Mackem supporters.

Everton surprisingly predicted as favourites to beat Sunderland

Everton are currently sitting in 14th place, and come into the match off the back of a 3-0 defeat at home to Tottenham on Sunday.

David Moyes’ side have had many standout stars this season, with Jack Grealish stealing the headlines for his resurgence in Merseyside.

According to Opta’s supercomputer, Everton are predicted to end Sunderland’s unbeaten record at the Stadium of Light.

This will be surprising to Black Cats fans, whose squad has truly performed above the expectations that were placed on them at the start of the campaign.

The Stadium of Light has been a fortress this season, with the fans carrying the players through wins against Wolves, West Ham, and Brentford already.

Sunderland are relishing their underdog status, and a win against Everton would see them reach 20 points after just 10 matches.

Sunderland supporters will be delighted ahead of the match versus Wolves

With this sort of form, Sunderland are on course to break Premier League history.

Sunderland have already broken several records this season

Le Bris has mentioned several times that he aims to achieve 40 points, which is the traditional benchmark for guaranteed safety.

However, some of the numbers that have been put up this season have been absolutely astonishing.

Sunderland made their best start to a Premier League campaign after six games, with their win away to Nottingham Forest highlighting that they would pose a serious threat under Le Bris.

As for the players, Wilson Isidor became Sunderland’s highest goalscorer after five top-flight matches with three goals, a feat that hadn’t been achieved since 2012-2013, whilst Omar Alderete became the first Paraguayan to find the back of the net for the club.

Just nine games in, supporters are over the moon with how the 2025-26 campaign has begun, and what it may hold over the next six months.

It could be about to get even better against Everton.
