Sunderland v Millwall result predicted by supercomputer

Sunderland are back in Championship action this Saturday with a home encounter against Alex Neil’s Millwall.

Sunderland remain in with a chance of achieving promotion back to the Premier League this season, but the performances will have to improve for that to be the case.

Form has been hard to come by as of late for the Mackems, with the 3-0 defeat to Coventry City showcasing their drop in performance levels prior to the international break.

However, with Millwall making the trip to the Stadium of Light this weekend, they have a good chance to get back to winning ways and get back on the promotion track.

Sunderland need a win against Millwall

Sunderland were dealt a couple of injury blows over the international break, though the potential return of Enzo Le Fee could be timely.

The Frenchman has been out of action for some time now, but Regis Le Bris previously stated that he could be fit for this encounter.

However, with or without their French maestro, Sunderland remain the favourites for the clash with Millwall.

Via Opta’s supercomputer, Sunderland have a 55.3 per cent chance of coming away with all three points, while a win for the visitors is the least likely outcome of the game.

With that said, Millwall have won three of their last five Championship encounters, while Sunderland have won just two, showcasing that it may be a tight game.

Le Bris must learn from mistakes

If promotion is to be achieved for Sunderland, significant improvements must be made on the pitch.

With eight games to go, a top-two finish appears rather unlikely, while the playoff spot is all about guaranteed for Sunderland.

While in terms of league finish, there is little to play for Sunderland, form and momentum will be key to take into the playoffs if they are to succeed.
