Sunderland transfer round-up: Leicester star El Khannouss wanted as approach made
Sunderland have been highly active in the transfer window since their promotion to the Premier League.
Regis Le Bris has splashed the cash on six new additions, including Enzo Le Fee, who had a successful loan spell at the Black Cats last season.
With Premier League survival on the line, Sunderland have shown no sign of slowing down in the transfer market.
More signings are expected at the Stadium of Light over the coming weeks. Therefore, Mackem News has provided a transfer round-up of the rumours from the past few days.

Monaco interest in Romain Mundle
As well as signings, Sunderland also face a battle to keep hold of some of their biggest stars.
Romain Mundle was one of the Black Cats’ most important players last season, as he provided seven goal contributions in 25 matches.
However, this form has now attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs, with Monaco and PSV in the race for his signature.
Sunderland are in a healthy position regarding Mundle, with the winger currently contracted until 2028.

Sunderland target Senne Lammens
Le Bris has been pursuing a new goalkeeper this summer, ready for the new Premier League season.
Now, the latest player linked to the Stadium of Light is Senne Lammens.
Playing for Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Pro League, the goalkeeper kept 10 clean sheets last season.
The Black Cats are said to be targeting Lammens as they remain unconvinced about Anthony Patterson’s ability to play in the Premier League.
Sunderland consider Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss
On top of a new goalkeeper, Sunderland are still in the hunt for additional wide players.
Now, the latest winger to be linked with the Black Cats is Bilal El Khannouss.
The Leicester City star picked up eight goal contributions for the Foxes last season despite their eventual relegation.
Now, Sunderland are said to be tracking El Khannouss, whom they have admired for several months.

Lucumi rejects Black Cats approach
Elsewhere, Sunderland have been linked with Jhon Lucumi.
The Colombian defender shone for Bologna last season as he helped the Italian club lift the Coppa Italia.
Jhon Lucumi | Serie A stats (2024/25 season) |
Appearences | 32 |
Clean sheets | 10 |
Interceptions per game | 0.8 |
Tackles per game | 1.7 |
Clearences per game | 2.6 |
However, it has now been claimed that the 27-year-old has rejected approaches from Sunderland and Bournemouth.
Instead, Lucumi favours a move to a club playing in Europe, preferably the Champions League.
