Sunderland ‘not finished yet’ as Lauriente transfer details emerge after Adingra deal
Armand Lauriente has been heavily linked with a move to Sunderland this summer.
Ambition has been the buzzword on Wearside for a few years now, and the Black Cats have already shown plenty of it in the transfer market.
Sunderland have already spent over £100million this summer, with no signs of stopping there ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Several players have been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light, including Lauriente, and it seems as though the Black Cats are not finished with their pursuit yet.

Lauriente could still move to Sunderland
Simon Adingra looks set to become Sunderland’s sixth summer signing, and their second attacking arrival.
Chemesdine Talbi was the other, though reports from Italy suggest they are still looking to bolster their attack even further.
Lauriente’s 2024/25 Serie B statistics | Total |
Appearances | 33 |
Goals | 18 |
Goal conversion | 22% |
Assists | 5 |
Big chances created | 6 |
Accurate passes | 16.6 (80%) |
Via the print edition of La Gazzetta dello Sport (10 July, pg 22), it is claimed that Sunderland are still pushing for the arrival of Lauriente, after a standout campaign for Sassuolo in Serie B.
The price tag set by the now-Serie A club was increased to around £27million, and whether Sunderland are still willing to pay it remains to be seen.

Sunderland are in a healthy position heading into pre-season
There will be several more new additions this summer, though to have five already through the door, with a sixth pending, before the first pre-season game has started is excellent work.
It showcases the level of planning made by the Wearsiders, who have had the least time out of anyone to prepare for the new season.
Now is certainly an exciting time to be a Sunderland supporter, and that feeling will only grow as the season draws closer.
West Ham will be the opponents on the opening day, and it looks set to be an almost unrecognisable Sunderland XI that takes to the pitch at the Stadium of Light next month.
