Sunderland ‘to prove everyone wrong’ as Robin Roefs Premier League-ready
Robin Roefs was brilliant as Sunderland beat Augsburg 1-0 on Saturday.
WWK Arena hosted Regis Le Bris’ team in a pre-season friendly on 9 August as the Balck Cats prepare for their return to the Premier League.
The Wearside outfit signed Roefs from NEC Nijmegen, and the shot-stopper showcased his qualities against the Bundesliga outfit, pulling off an impressive penalty save in the first half.
Habib Diarra got on the scoresheet to give the visitors the lead, but it was the goalkeeper who caught the attention of fans and will be pivotal to the Black Cats’ success next season.

Roefs to help Sunderland avoid Premier League relegation
Sunderland have been tipped to return to the Championship at the end of the upcoming campaign, something a lot of supporters aren’t happy about.
The Black Cats seem to be one of the favourites to get relegated despite some significant investment at the Stadium of Light this summer.
Le Bris’ team has so far been reinforced with nine new players, with Kyril Louis-Dreyfus not shy about splashing the cash on the likes of Diarra, Simon Adingra, Enzo Le Fee and Granit Xhaka.

The Wearside outfit has added much-needed English top-flight experience to their squad, which will come in handy.
While Anthony Patterson was the number one at Sunderland last season, Roefs is making a case for himself, and his recent performances will give the French manager a lot to think about.
A quality goalkeeper could arguably be a game-changer for the Black Cats’ hopes of survival, and the 22-year-old Dutch shot-stopper has already instilled confidence among the fanbase with his handling of the ball.

Arthur Masuaku and more new signings on their way
Sunderland are set to sign Arthur Masuaku from Besiktas, and further additions should be expected in SR5.
Getafe centre-back Omar Alderete also seems to be on his way to the Stadium of Light, giving Le Bris the reinforcements he’s needed in defence.
The Wearside outfit have also been linked with a move for a new number nine, and Al-Hilal striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has emerged as a shock target.
Sunderland are ready to prove everyone wrong next season with their transfer business this summer.
