Sunderland to pounce now amid ‘unbelievable’ £43m Abline prediction

Sunderland have developed a reputation for unlocking the potential of multiple youngsters, with Matthis Abline potentially next to thrive at the Stadium of Light.

Jobe Bellingham is a prime example. The midfielder arrived at the Stadium of Light two years ago and was vital in the Black Cats’ promotion campaign.

Now, Bellingham has swapped Sunderland for Borussia Dortmund as he looks to make his next step in his career.

With Regis Le Bris looking for new signings this summer, he will be hopeful that he can repeat this feat with French gem Abline.

Sunderland told that Abline will be worth £42.5 million in ‘a few years’

Sunderland need to make multiple new signings this summer if they are to have a chance of staying in the Premier League.

A new attacker would be ideal, after Wilson Isidor struggled in the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.

Reports from abroad have linked Sunderland with Nantes striker Abline this summer.

The French attacker netted 11 times this past season, with the 22-year-old clearly having plenty of potential.

With the striker supposedly only valued at £17million, the Black Cats have been told they could make a massive profit if they were to bring in Abline this summer.

French football expert Andrés Onrubia Ramos (11 June) labelled the attacker as “unbelievable” on X.

Ramos soon followed this up claiming he could be worth £42.5m in the future.

When someone asked why his fee is as high as €25, Ramos replied that figure will likely double down the line on his current trajectory.

Sunderland have no excuse not to sign Abline

Given Abline’s price tag, combined with his potential, Sunderland have no excuse not to sign the youngster.

The striker has experienced top-flight football at a young age and has been a success in Ligue 1.

For £17m, Le Bris should take a gamble on Abline as he could easily lead Sunderland’s front line for years to come, and potentially make the Premier League club a massive profit down the line.

Hopefully the Black Cats will now begin to make moves to ensure that the 22-year-old is playing at the Stadium of Light next season.
