Sunderland’s second addition of the summer could be a behind-the-scenes one.
Enzo Le Fee remains the Black Cats’ only arrival from a player point of view, though reports over the last week suggest that they are set to make an addition to their backroom staff.
Former Roma chief Florent Ghisolfi is said to be nearing a move to the Stadium of Light, sparking excitement but also curiosity among those on Wearside.
Juventus and Newcastle were both believed to have shown an interest in his services, but a move to Sunderland is looking increasingly more likely to be his next adventure.

Very few would have anticipated such a big change at Sunderland, though if the Black Cats are to push on after their promotion back to the Premier League, it will be a necessity for hires like this.
As of yet, his arrival hasn’t been announced, though it is looking increasingly likely to happen, with Italian journalist Filippo Biafora providing some insight into what the Mackems can expect.
Speaking to Mackem News, he said: “He was only at Roma for a year, so it’s difficult to make an accurate assessment. Some people are less satisfied than others. It has often been said that this new summer transfer window would be a better time to make a more accurate overall assessment.

“He certainly does a great job of scouting, and his knowledge of the market could be useful in trying to find interesting players.
“His success will depend on how much freedom he will have to operate. At Roma, we hardly ever saw him make any decisions on his own.”

Since arriving last summer, Regis Le Bris has done a fine job on Wearside, but promotion back to the Premier League will throw up his biggest test yet.
In order to succeed, he needs to be backed in the summer window, and the scouting knowledge of Ghisolfi will only aid them in their attempts to achieve that.
