Sunderland teased on their official X account (11 June) footage of their upcoming documentary, which will retell their promotion to the Premier League

The clip shows Dan Neil discussing the squad’s journey to Wembley before their play-off final, showcasing the atmosphere that the Black Cats fans were producing outside of the coach.

Sunderland fans will be able to watch the documentary on Thursday (12 June), when it is set to be released in full.

Sunderland’s squad will go down as legends

Whatever happens next season in the Premier League, there is no doubt that the Sunderland squad will go down as legends for their promotion campaign.

After a terrible 2023/24 campaign, even the play-offs seemed an unlikely dream when Le Bris was appointed.

However, the Frenchman created one of the best squads in the Black Cats’ history to take Sunderland back to the top flight for the first time since 2017.

Thankfully, this documentary will allow fans to always have a memory of the season.
