Sunderland team news vs Manchester United: Regis Le Bris confirms if Nordi Mukiele will play

Sunderland visit Manchester United in their next Premier League game on Saturday.

Fifth-placed Sunderland travel to the North-West in fine form, having claimed a 1-0 win away to Nottingham Forest last time out.

Regis Le Bris will be hoping to have all of his key players at his disposal, as the Black Cats look to continue their brilliant start to the season.

Man United come into the game off the back of a 3-1 loss to Brentford, as the Red Devils sit 14th in the table.

Le Bris has provided an update on the availability of some of Sunderland’s stars, including Nordi Mukiele.

Nordi Mukiele set to feature in Man United vs Sunderland

Mukiele has been outstanding for Sunderland since he arrived in the summer, with his versatility in defence proving to be invaluable.

However, reports emerged that Mukiele has suffered a thigh strain, as he was seen wearing protective strapping during training sessions.

In his press conference on Thursday, Le Bris discussed the Frenchman’s availability for Saturday.

When asked about whether Mukiele would feature against Man United, Le Bris said: “He’s ok.”

An even bigger bonus is that Sunderland have every player available for them, apart from the long-term absentees and the suspended Reinildo.

Le Bris will hope that his side can carry forward their momentum by achieving something that very few Sunderland teams have done before.

Sunderland could win at Old Trafford for the first time since 2014

A Sunderland win could lead to Ruben Amorim’s dismissal, with the under-fire manager struggling at Old Trafford.

However, the Black Cats have not won at the Theatre of Dreams in 11 years, and a win would undoubtedly prove to be their best result of the season.

Man United are favourites to beat Sunderland, yet Le Bris’ side will relish their underdog status against an opponent they have struggled against in the past.

Man United vs Sunderland head-to-head:

Sunderland’s management of games has been top-notch this season, and if the Black Cats can nick an early goal, then the fans may be celebrating a long-awaited victory.
