Sunderland supporters react as third kit leaked online – ‘Gonna bang’
Sunderland are gearing up for their first Premier League season in eight years.
Aside from Sunderland’s pre-season results, everything this summer has brought a sense of optimism to Wearside, and plenty revolves around the new kits for the campaign.
Supporters were quick to snap up both the home and away kits, designed by Hummel, and featuring a W88 logo, which is expected to boost income significantly before the new Premier League rules are enforced next summer.
However, images of the alleged third kit have surfaced online just over a week before they return to competitive action, and it is fair to say that the design is the closest thing to Marmite you could ever imagine.

What have supporters said about the new third kit?
The club shirts for the new season are always highly anticipated, and while it is hard to please everyone, this one has certainly brought a mixed reaction.
Sunderland will, if leaks are to be true, have a black and grey third kit, with a grey cat as the badge, which is also featured in the design around the shirt.
Some fans were quick to highlight that it looks like training gear, while others emphasised how their bank accounts are set to take yet another hit this summer.
When will Sunderland wear the third kit?
Sunderland wore their previous third kit throughout the season, but the first real time this will be needed will be when the Black Cats travel to face Brighton on 20 December.
However, that is unlikely to be the first time it is worn, and much of it will depend on the release date, which is expected to be in the next week.
If previous pricing is anything to go by, it will be available to buy for £60, and should include long and short sleeve versions as well as options without a sponsor.
