View: Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor records remarkable stat v Hull City

Wilson Isidor somehow managed to attempt more shots than passes as Sunderland beat Hull City on Sunday.

The Frenchman scored the winning goal in the game at the MKM Stadium on 20 October for Sunderland’ to reclaim their place at the top of the Championship in an encounter that caused some controversy.

After an attempted corner from the hosts was somewhat interfered with by referee Bobby Madley, Sunderland were able to break through on goal with Isidor excellently chipping the ball over the ‘keeper with his third shot of the game.

Quite remarkably, those three shots surpassed the number of passes the striker attempted in the game, according to FotMob.

Isidor, in the 75 minutes he featured in, attempted just two passes albeit completing both of them.

Quite frankly, many Sunderland fans will be fairly happy to see their striker have little influence on the game if it means they will score the winning goal.

Which is exactly what Isidor did. It was his third goal of the season and comfortably the best yet.

The Frenchman demonstrated his incredible pace and power to not only get to the loose ball but to then drive the length of the pitch before composing himself magnificently to score the opening and winning goal.

Isidor has been a hit on Wearside since joining the club and his performances continue to show why he may be the number one striker at the club.

During a talk-in with Sunderland supporters, Isidor stated he wanted to reach at least 10 goals this season and his remarkable start in red and white has certainly put him on the right track to achieve that and more.
