Sunderland star Romaine Mundle sends message after Tottenham finalise move

Sunderland’s Romaine Mundle took to social media to send a message after news of an exit.

Mundle himself has been in the headlines as of late, with it reported that Sunderland are hoping to tie him down to a new deal amid interest from other Premier League clubs as well as those abroad.

Having missed a large chunk of the Championship campaign, he will be just as keen to put his injury troubles behind him and make a name for himself in the top flight.

Having initially been recognised for his potential at Tottenham, the winger became accustomed to those in North London, with news of an exit seeing him send a message.

Tottenham star announces summer exit

Sunderland and Tottenham have certainly had their dealings over the last few summers, with Mundle, Dennis Cirkin and Jack Clarke among those to have featured for both sides.

Both Mundle and Cirkin spent time in their academy set-up, which was coincidentally at the same time as Max Robson, who, after 15 years in North London, announced his exit from Spurs via Instagram.

Cirkin liked the post, while Mundle replied with a love heart emoji, having spent time with Robson during his youth days.

As for Spurs, they will be in for just as busy a summer as Sunderland, given the fact that they now have Champions League football to attend to.

Sunderland can take advantage of summer exits

With clubs all around England now starting to announce exits, Sunderland need to be taking a close look at those who could come to the Stadium of Light.

While investment will be needed, there is very little harm in picking up a few free agents who know what it takes to thrive in the Premier League.

If Regis Le Bris’ side are to have a fighting chance of staying in the top flight, experience is going to be crucial, and with the likes of Jordan Henderson linked, it appears as though Sunderland are ready to add that to their ranks.

This summer is going to be huge for the Black Cats, and they need to get every decision right.
