Sunderland star perplexed at post ahead of Madueke transfer to Arsenal

Noni Madueke looks set to sign for Arsenal, and one Sunderland star has been involved in a social media howler.

Approaching the mid-point in July, the majority of focus remains on recruitment for all sides, including Sunderland, who have already made significant progress

The Black Cats have sealed six new additions so far this summer, with Kristjaan Speakman insisting several more will follow ahead of their return to the Premier League.

However, plenty of Sunderland’s upcoming opponents are also making additions to their squad, with the latest leading to a howler on Instagram.

Romaine Mundle caught in Tottenham howler

Romaine Mundle has enjoyed his time at Sunderland since making the move, having initially made a name for himself in the Spurs academy.

Similar can be said for Madueke, whose move to Arsenal will see him have represented the Gunners, Chelsea and Tottenham.

A post shared by GOAL on Instagram reflected that, with images of Madueke wearing all three shirts included, only the Tottenham one used wasn’t Madueke at all.

In fact, it was a picture of Mundle from his time in North London, and he wasted no time in sharing his confusion at the post, replying with a question mark emoji while hundreds of others have flooded the comments to highlight the error.

Mundle can play a huge role for Sunderland

The winger was on the scoresheet for Sunderland in their 4-0 win over South Shields at the weekend, and in general looked sharp.

With the additions of Simon Adingra and Chemsdine Talbi, he will have some strong competition, but he can certainly stake a claim for his place in the starting 11.

Another attacking arrival is still expected at the Stadium of Light, though that is unlikely to change much in regard to Mundle, with it more than likely set to be the addition of a striker as opposed to another wide player.
