Sunderland star Jobe Bellingham on Borussia Dortmund radar as delegation cancels – report
Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham is being lined up by Borussia Dortmund in a potential £20million swoop, according to The Sun.
The report (10 November) states that Dortmund had planned to send scouts to Deepdale to watch Jobe’s performance against Preston but cancelled plans due to his suspension.
However, it appears as though he is still on the Bundesliga giants’ radar, with Dortmund having of course once been home for Jobe’s superstar Real Madrid brother Jude Bellingham.
Alan Nixon reported “Sunderland would want around £20m” for Jobe, who has been a standout player under Regis Le Bris this season.
Sunderland need Jobe Bellingham this season
Since Jobe’s suspension, the Black Cats have failed to win a game, with the successive goalless draws against QPR and Preston followed by a 2-2 draw at home to Coventry which left Le Bris disappointed.
Jobe offers something to the Sunderland midfield that no other player can and his physical attributes play a key role in any success that the Black Cats achieve.
His absence left a massive hole in the previous two games with the Wearsiders unable to get a foothold in the game at Deepdale while throwing away a 2-0 lead against Coventry.

While interest in Jobe is inevitable in January, Sunderland have to keep him. There are no two ways about it. Unless a ludicrous offer comes in, something significantly higher than the £20 million quoted, the Black Cats simply can’t afford to entertain any offers.
The loss of Jobe would leave a huge dent in the Black Cats’ promotion hopes after an emphatic start to the season.
