Spotted: Sunderland gem ‘Absolutely Mobbed’ while away on international duty

Sunderland midfielder Jobe Bellingham was “absolutely mobbed” after making his England Under-21s debut on Friday night.

Jobe has been a standout performer under Regis Le Bris this season, earning him the call-up having most recently played for the England Elite squad.

He was named in the starting lineup for the clash with Spain in Cadiz on 15 November, which ultimately ended in a goalless draw.

Mail Sport journalist Nathan Salt posted a clip on X showing the Sunderland favourite being surrounded for autographs after the game.

“Jobe Bellingham absolutely mobbed outside the team bus. Had more requests for selfies and autographs than any player that played tonight. The big draw”, he said.

Jobe Bellingham Sunderland form deserved call-up

Jobe has been arguably Sunderland’s best player this season and even one of the best in the entire division.

Since Le Bris started his tenure, his newly found midfield role has seen him thrive and grow into an already top-level Championship player.

The international break, while detrimental to some, comes at a perfect time for him with one-match suspension still looming.

A chance to re capture the form he has showcased throughout the season will be a positive for both club and player.

Of course, with such high-level performances comes high-level interest, with Borussia Dortmund linked with a move for Jobe (The Sun), although Sunderland will have no desire or need to sell in January.

Jobe will be crucial to the Black Cats’ promotion hopes and his absence has certainly been felt in the two encounters since his dismissal against QPR.

While the Millwall encounter will see him serve the last game of his three-match suspension, his return for the clash against West Brom could prove timely.
