Sunderland share brand-new footage after work at the Stadium of Light

Sunderland have spared no expense as new work at the Stadium of Light is unveiled for the first time.

The Black Cats are determined to make a positive impact upon their re-entry into the Premier League next season. This means avoiding relegation, which has not been an easy task for recently promoted Championship clubs.

But Sunderland have been active in the summer market to ensure they remain on top. However, the playing squad is not the only area where the club have invested this summer.

Regis Le Bris will be happy with Sunderland’s window so far

Sunderland unveil new-look concourses for the first time

Sunderland took to X on Saturday (2 August) to unveil their new-look concourses at the Stadium of Light for the first time.

The footage shows fans checking out the upgrade in the stadium, which features several paintings of Black Cat legends. This complete transformation comes as part of a second successive summer of unprecedented development.

This follows an eight-figure investment programme implemented throughout the stadium, which is aimed at improving fan experiences.

The renovations will not only serve to keep supporters happy but also reflect the club’s commitment to remaining in the top flight. With the start of the Premier League on the horizon, the Stadium of Light has never looked better.

Sunderland must remain in the Premier League

While the upgrade to the Stadium of Light will help boost morale going into the new season, the Black Cats will need to do more to ensure they continue in the top flight.

This means making good progress in the summer window, which the club has made an excellent attempt at. From Habib Diarra to Simon Adingra, Sunderland have welcomed several promising talents.

However, more importantly, the club has added experience and expertise to their ranks. This, of course, is best demonstrated through Granit Xhaka, who arrived on Wearside earlier this week.

While the defensive midfielder is on the older side, he ended his tenure at Bayer Leverkusen as one of their best-performing players. Before Leverkusen, he was at Arsenal, where he became a prominent feature for the London side.

As a result, his experience of the league and ability to compete at the top level of club football will be a huge boost for Le Bris moving forward. Therefore, with a real mixture of youth and experience, Sunderland have all the ingredients to cook up a storm next season.
