Sunderland seem to subdue Noah Sadiki fear after what happened on international duty

Sunderland fans have been waiting patiently for an update on Noah Sadiki.

Sunderland have had a lot of success so far this season, with plenty of that as a result of the 14 new arrivals at the Stadium of Light in the summer.

Since arriving from Belgium, Sadiki has been immense for Sunderland, and already cemented his spot in the starting 11.

The only thing that will dethrone him from his starting position would be an injury, and after developments on Friday night, fans were worrying that this could be the case.

Noah Sadiki missed DR Congo’s win vs Togo

Sadiki has also been a regular for DR Congo, but fears started to emerge when he was left out of their squad to face Togo on Friday night.

He was pictured with the squad on duty, but was nowhere to be seen when the game kicked off.

Fans immediately started to fear for the worst, and, quite frankly, given Habib Diarra’s absence at Sunderland, another midfield injury would be hugely detrimental.

With that said, a post shared by Sunderland on social media alleviated some of those concerns, without confirming or denying the news.

The post reads: “An important victory in World Cup qualifying for Arthur Masuaku and Noah Sadiki’s DR Congo!

While it did little to confirm his injury status, the fact that they have alluded to the game suggests that there is no injury that they are aware of.

Sunderland simply need Noah Sadiki fit

Sadiki is crucial to Sunderland and the way that they have played this season.

The Black Cats rely on his energy in midfield and his ability to break up play and drive his team forward when under pressure.

Regis Le Bris has options to replace Sadiki should it be necessary, though none of them possess similar qualities to the 20-year-old.

At this stage, no update is probably the best update, though fears will remain present until confirmation arrives.
