Sunderland secure deadline day agreement to sign striker for £21.6m
Sunderland have acted quickly to secure another striker before the transfer deadline.
The Black Cats were dealt a blow as news emerged that Chelsea could recall Marc Guiu immediately after the injury suffered by Liam Delap.
Then, Sunderland and Chelsea reached an agreement for the Spaniard to return to Stamford Bridge, leaving Regis Le Bris short of forward options.
However, now the Wearsiders are nearing a deadline day deal to sign a replacement for £21.6million.

Sunderland and Ajax agree deal in principle to sign Brian Brobbey
After the bombshell on Guiu, news broke that Sunderland were plotting an ambitious move for Brobbey.
Brobbey came through the ranks at Ajax and has made 163 appearances for the Amsterdam club.
However, the 23-year-old has not featured for the Dutch outfit this summer amid rumours that he could leave his boyhood club.
- Brobbey has 80 Ajax goal contributions in 163 appearances
- He has one goal in eight Netherlands caps
- Only managed four league goals last season
Reports emerged that Ajax wanted £21.6m from Sunderland, who made a bid for the forward.
Now, there is an agreement in principle between the Black Cats and Ajax, according to Mike Verweij on 1 August.
The Dutch sports reporter adds that the transfer fee is worth £17.3m, with £4.3m in easily realised bonuses.

Where will Brian Brobbey fit in Regis Le Bris’ side?
Given how much Sunderland are reportedly paying for Brobbey, he will be expected to make an impact at the Stadium of Light.
So far this season, Eliezer Mayenda has started all of the Black Cats’ Premier League games, scoring one goal.
As for Wilson Isidor, he has appeared as a substitute twice in the league, scoring two late goals.
With Brobbey set to be in his ranks, Sunderland’s manager has several quality options whom he can field.
Indeed, it may be a case that he starts a substitute, but there will be immense pressure on Mayenda to score more goals.
If he is unable to do so, and Brobbey takes his chance, then he could be Le Bris’ first choice in the long run.
