Sunderland ready Nayef Aguerd transfer amid AC Milan development
Nayef Aguerd is the latest star to be linked with a move to Sunderland this summer.
Sunderland‘s transfer approach so far this summer has seen the Black Cats bolster their midfield options ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Both Noah Sadiki and Habib Diarra have made the move to the Stadium of Light, with Regis Le Bris now seemingly wanting other areas addressed.
Armand Lauriente is one of many players to have been linked to address the concerns in the forward line, with Aguerd linked to address those at the opposite side of the pitch.

Aguerd undecided on next move as Sunderland circle
Wilfried Singo was linked with a move to Wearside earlier in the window, those though links seem to have died down over the last few weeks.
Instead, West Ham defender Aguerd has been linked with a switch to Wearside, according to Santi Aouna via X (7 July).
The Moroccan international has spent the last campaign on loan at Real Sociedad, where his performances have attracted interest from AC Milan and AS Roma.
Aguerd stats 2023/24 | Total |
Tackles won % | 53.8% |
Duels won % | 61.5% |
Aerial duels won % | 59.3% |
However, Aguerd is yet to decide on his next move this summer, with plenty of offers to choose from if he does depart from the Hammers.
With that in mind, Sunderland’s ability to offer regular first-team football could provide them with the advantage in the race to sign him.
Le Bris needs defensive reinforcements
Leeds have taken the early approach of bolstering their defensive options this summer, and that will be a stage that the Black Cats soon enter.
Having a solid defensive foundation is key to survival, and Sunderland will be well aware of that with a crucial few weeks ahead.
However, based on the ambition shown so far this summer, there is very little for the Black Cats to be worried about when it comes to recruitment.
