Sunderland ready Chris Rigg exit in ‘crazy’ £40m Everton transfer twist
Sunderland could lose teenage wonderkid Chris Rigg during the summer transfer window.
The Black Cats are enjoying an excellent season under Regis Le Bris as they push for promotion to the Premier League.
Sunderland are currently in the Championship playoff places and have showcased a lot of quality within their performances throughout the season.
Rigg has been a significant part of that as the teenager is thriving within Le Bris’ team, despite being one of the youngest players in the division.

Sunderland bracing for Chris Rigg offers
Rigg has proven to be a bright spark for Sunderland, winning the hearts of the fans and gaining plenty of admirers from other clubs.
According to Alan Nixon’s Patreon (30 March), Everton boss David Moyes sent top spy Charlie Adam to watch Rigg play for Sunderland recently as the experienced manager is a fan of him.
Sunderland are willing to sell Rigg this summer, but the Championship side want to earn £40mllion for the midfield prospect.
It is believed that the Toffees will not be paying that “crazy” fee, which could end up putting the Merseyside giants off placing a bid at all, as they value him closer to the £10m mark.
Rigg has been on Everton’s radar since he was a child, but their estimation of the midfielder is miles apart from Sunderland’s.
The current price tag is putting off all interested parties, with West Ham United also keen to sign Rigg, but much like Everton, they are valuing him at around £10m.

Chris Rigg could play Premier League football without a transfer
Rigg is someone who has showcased a lot of quality in his performances this season, which is why he has been able to gain interest from Premier League outfits.
However, the 17-year-old could end up playing in the English top flight without leaving Sunderland due to their current league position in the Championship.
The Black Cats are fourth in the table and are in a strong position to be involved in the playoffs at the end of the season.
Rigg is under contract at the Stadium of Light until 2027, which will put Sunderland in a strong negotiating position ahead of the summer transfer window to either make a significant profit or keep him.
