Sunderland reach agreement to sign ‘next Luis Suarez’ as medical booked
Sunderland look set to land yet another summer transfer.
The Black Cats have made some serious progress this summer, with seven new arrivals already checking in at the Stadium of Light.
Robin Roefs looks set to become the eighth after he was spotted in a Sunderland kit, with a number nine set to follow closely after.
Sunderland have been in the market for a new striker, and as per the latest reports, they have succeeded in their attempts.

Marc Guiu set for Sunderland medical
As reported by Keith Downie via X (31 July), the Black Cats look set to add Chelsea’s Marc Guiu to their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League in just over two weeks.
The 19-year-old Spaniard is due to travel to Wearside for a medical before putting pen to paper ahead of a season-long loan move to the Stadium of Light.
Conference League | Games | Goals | xG |
Guiu | 7 | 6 | 3.25 |
Guiu failed to get much time on the pitch at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League, but was a consistent starter throughout the Blues’ UEFA Conference League campaign.
Sunderland look to have picked up another shrewd addition, with Joe Cole previously likening the Spaniard to former Liverpool and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez [BBC Sport].

What else do Sunderland need this summer?
With a striker now coming through the door, Sunderland need to turn their focus to defensive arrivals before the campaign gets underway.
Jhon Lucumi seems the most likely addition, though one is unlikely to be enough given the lack of quality in the current back line.
Aside from that, the Black Cats will be keen to add depth and quality across several other areas of the squad, and with over a month remaining in the window, time is on their side to achieve that.
Le Bris needed to be backed this summer, and the hierarchy on Wearside have certainly delivered so far.
