Sunderland pre-season fixtures, streaming details and latest information
Sunderland’s pre-season campaign is about to begin, and preparations will be key ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Regis Le Bris has strengthened his squad with several signings, and more could follow imminently ahead of the first friendlies.
Sunderland are now back in the Premier League after an eight-year absence, but they face a difficult task as they aim to survive the relegation battle.
The Black Cats have a stacked pre-season schedule ahead of the new campaign, and Mackem News has listed all the details below.

Sunderland pre-season fixtures
Sunderland will begin their preparations with two games against non-league opposition away from the Stadium of Light, as they take on Gateshead and South Shields in matches on July 12.
The development squad will face Gateshead, while the first team take on South Shields.
The squad will then travel to the Algarve region in Portugal for a tour, in which they will face Spanish side Sevilla and Portuguese giants Sporting Club De Portugal.
Opponent | Date | Stadium |
South Shields | 12 July | 1st Cloud Arena |
Gateshead | 12 July | Hebburn Town |
Sevilla | 19 July | Estadio Algarve |
Sporting CP | 21 July | Estadio Algarve |
Hearts | 26 July | Tynecastle Stadium |
Hull City | 29 July | MKM Stadium |
Real Betis | 2 August | Stadium of Light |
Augsburg | 9 August | WWK Arena |
Rayo Vallecano | 10 August | Stadium of Light |
Trips to face Hull City and Scottish side Hearts will follow, before returning to the Stadium of Light to face Real Betis.
They will finish off pre-season with matches away at Augsburg and at home to Rayo Vallecano, meaning there will be plenty of match preparation against top-flight opposition to prepare for the season ahead.

How to stream Sunderland’s pre-season matches
Streaming passes are now available to buy on the Sunderland club website, with the non-league double header priced at £9.99.
Fans based in the UK or the USA can buy a full package for £49.99, giving streaming access to every single pre-season fixture in the calendar ahead of the Premier League campaign.
Passes for each game will be available in the weeks leading up to the individual matches.
The clash with Augsburg will not be streamed as a result of UEFA regulations.
Sunderland have completed several signings who will be in action for the first time in some of these friendlies, with Noah Sadiki the latest addition.
