Sunderland offered chance to sign ‘great finisher’ who topped La Liga scoring chart in 2023-24
Sunderland are expected to add attacking reinforcements in January.
Sunderland are more likely to qualify for Europe than be relegated this season, and that is going to be reflected by the business that they do in the January transfer window.
Kyril Louis-Dreyfus showcased his ambition for the Black Cats in the summer, and given the fact that Sunderland will end the year in the top 10, that will be repeated again.
Only three teams have scored fewer goals than Regis Le Bris’ side this season, and that will likely influence their priorities for the winter window.

Roma forward offered to Sunderland ahead of January
Brian Brobbey has started to look like a real gem for Sunderland, but the truth of the matter is that the Black Cats are lacking goals.
Wilson Isidor is their top scorer with four goals, which, after 17 games, is somewhat of a concern.
That will be rectified in some way or another in January, with the arrival of another striker potentially on the cards.
Artem Dovbyk could be that player, with reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport claiming that Sunderland have been offered the Ukrainian forward.

Upon Dovbyk’s arrival at Roma, Daniele De Rossi said: “He’s a great finisher, he knows how to link up with his teammate, and tactically speaking, he’s very clean.”
Dovbyk’s La Liga numbers speak for themself
Dovbyk has somewhat struggled since making the move to Roma back in 2024, but even then, he managed 17 goals in his first campaign.
The Ukrainian has started just three of Roma’s Serie A encounters so far this season, though, with a January exit looking more like a when as opposed to an if.
However, while his struggles have been there this season, Dovbyk scored 24 times for Girona in La Liga before his move to Italy – a tally which saw him finish as the league’s top scorer above the likes of Alexander Sorloth and Jude Bellingham.
As things stand, it certainly feels like the arrival of a top-quality winger should be at the top of the list of priorities for Sunderland, but a deal for Dovbyk may prove too good to overlook.
