Sunderland now favourites for Gray transfer as ultimatum set by major talent
Charlie Gray is seen as a bright upcoming star in Manchester City’s academy, but he could soon be on Sunderland’s books.
The 19-year-old has spent his entire youth career at the Citizens and is now aiming to break into the first team.
In recent years, he has overseen multiple feats, including winning the FA Youth Cup, where he played the full 90 minutes at the Etihad.
Now, Sunderland are tracking Gray as they aim to add depth to their midfield.

Gray demands first-team football as Sunderland target Man City star
Sunderland are in dire need of a midfielder this summer ready for their return to the top flight.
Jobe Bellingham departed for Borussia Dortmund earlier this week, which has left the Black Cats light in this position.
Replacements have been linked, with Sunderland eyeing Jordan Henderson from Ajax as he looks set to leave the Dutch giants.
Gray has also been considered as a potential option as he enters the final year of his contract. However, the youngster has sent an ultimatum to Sunderland if he is to sign.
According to Alan Nixon via the Sun on Sunday (15 June, page 55), Gray is open about joining the Black Cats but wants regular first-team football.
Sunderland are the favourites to sign the midfielder if they have a plan for him.
Interested Championship parties could also offer the first-team football Gray craves.

Sunderland cannot offer Gray first-team football
With Sunderland now preparing for the Premier League, it would be suicide if Regis Le Bris played Gray regularly.
The midfielder is yet to make a senior appearance and would likely struggle in a relegation battle with the pressure on.

As a result, Sunderland’s chances of survival would take a sharp decline if Le Bris opted to follow through with the 19-year-old’s wishes.
Simply put, if Gray will not sign unless he is played regularly at the Stadium of Light, the Black Cats must move on to other targets.
