However, it was also a milestone occasion for Luke O’Nien, who made his 300th appearance in the famous red and white stripes.

Having impressed for Sunderland at youth level, it has only been a matter of time until he finally got his chance to show what he can do, and that appears to be upon us now.
While the majority of his work was done off the ball, he showed some neat touches and provided fresh legs at a crucial period in the game.
